Hawaii Part 1: The Kids Break From Me

I usually think of time away from the kids as my break from them but in a way it's also their break from me. A break from me telling them to clean their room. A break from me being impatient after a long day. For 5 days, the kids got a break from me and were able to spend time with funny, silly, cool Auntie Leesh. The girls absolutely adore her. She came a few days early to spend time with me and to get familiar with the kids and their routines so by the time we left she knew what she was doing. And because she knows me so well, she knows my 'mom issues' with leaving my kids - she frequently sent me pics and updates and the kids couldn't have been better taken care of. Here are some of the pictures she sent me throughout the week:

This is the first picture Alysia sent, the morning after we left. It was a good feeling to see the snow but not feel the snow

She even braved church. And she said they were pretty good. That's when I knew she was lying - my kids (i.e. Roman) are not good at church.

Bath time

She couldn't believe how much breakfast they ate - my kids love their cereal.

Too much fun for Delylah

They look pretty happy to me

When I got home the kids were happy, the house was clean, the laundry was done. It made coming home to freezing weather much more bearable.

That's so nice you had someone you could trust to watch your kids the entire time. It makes it much easier for you to enjoy your much-needed vacation :)

(I love the pics of your kids on the side of the blog. SO cute!)
